  • The Telemarathon of solidarity, organised by the private TV Channels,
    raised more than 11.700.000  Euros  for the support of fire victims
  • Anti-flood works pushed -  Local authorities fear barriers will not be ready in
    time for bad weather
  • Fires’ cost up to 5 bln euros
  • Global warming may pose threat to heart

This website summarizes information that became available by the greek and
international media during and soon after the 2007 Greek fires. It is not updated
regularly anymore, however, it does include useful information on what the
homeowners, and communities could do to mitigate the consequences of the
disaster and avoid similar events.
